The frequency of coaching sessions depends on the individual and their goals. Most clients prefer to meet weekly, while others may meet bi-weekly or monthly.
Jaime offers virtual coaching sessions to accommodate the needs and preferences of my clients. However, in-person meetings may be arranged on a case-by-case basis.
Jaime's approach begins with establishing an open, honest, and positive working relationship with her clients. Each client is given a VIA Character Strengths survey at the beginning of the coaching process to identify their strengths. The results of this survey are the foundation of Jaime's strength-based, collaborative, and holistic approach. Each client has different needs, so Jaime tailors her approach to the individual and evolves as her clients progress.
Jaime is not a licensed mental health provider. However, she is knowledgeable about the mental health challenges that often occur in tandem with ADHD. Jaime is ethically bound to refer clients to a mental health professional if they show signs of depression or anxiety. She has a network of exceptional mental health providers to whom she refers clients.
It is essential to check with your insurance provider about coverage for coaching services. Sadly, most insurance companies do not cover them. Jaime cannot provide a diagnosis code that health insurers often require. However, she gives detailed monthly invoices that may be submitted to the insurance company for clients who wish to apply for reimbursement.
Jaime provides a FREE initial phone consultation for prospective clients. Following the call, an intake session may be scheduled. The fee for this service is expected before the appointment. If a client chooses to begin coaching, Jaime provides a contract that clearly defines the prices and policies. Once the contract is signed, both parties must adhere to the terms.
Jaime is passionate about educational equity and offers a sliding fee scale for those clients that meet the Federal income eligibility guidelines for free and reduced price school meals. The income guidelines can be found here: https://www.fns.usda.gov/cn/fr-020923
Jaime attends the annual International Conference on ADHD and many ADHD-specific professional development seminars/webinars. To renew her ACC credentials, Jaime must complete 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education (CCE) every three years.

The policy is as follows: The coach agrees to keep confidential all Client information disclosed to the Coach or received from any third party unless written permission is obtained. If the Coach must gain access to information from third parties (schools, therapists, physicians, or other professionals). In that case, the Coach will provide a standard information release form for the Client’s signature. Confidentiality obligations shall not apply:
a. Failure to disclose may be, in Coach’s sole discretion, in violation of any law or may involve information regarding certain crimes that have either been committed or Coach believes may be committed, or when such information is subject to subpoena.
b. Where failure to disclose may, in Coach’s sole determination, endanger the life or safety of the Client or another human being.
c. Where child abuse or neglect is suspected in Coach’s sole discretion. Coach is a licensed teacher in Maryland, which renders Coach a “Mandated Reporter.” Mandated reporters must notify the local Department of social services or the appropriate law enforcement agency about suspected cases of child abuse or neglect as soon as possible (https://dhs.maryland.gov).
These policies survive the expiration or termination of the coaching services.
In this case, Jaime will strongly encourage the client to inform his/her/their parents or guardians. If addiction is suspected, Jaime will notify the client of her decision to contact parents. If a client appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a coaching session, the session will be terminated immediately, and the fee will be forfeited. All coaching services may be terminated at Jaime's discretion for violating the terms of the coaching contract.

The phone consultation and intake session aim to assess the fit of the client and coach. Once the contract is signed, both parties are bound by its terms. However, the contract is month-to-month. Clients may terminate the coaching agreement with two weeks' notice.
